As a member or participant in the Scam Victim Alliance (SVA) community, website or social media, each individual pledges to uphold the following values and responsibilities:
LEGAL STATUS AND GASA RELATIONSHIP
Scam Victim Alliance (SVA) is a global survivor-led support and advocacy community and a subsidiary of Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
GASA's legal entity is Stichting Global Anti-Scam Alliance, a Dutch foundation registered in the Netherlands with Dutch Chamber of Commerce number 52710041 and LEI 724500OALDKMW2HFDO33. GASA's registered office is Oder 20, unit A6311, 2491 DC The Hague, Netherlands.
Core Values
Empathy and Respect: Treat every person with dignity, compassion, and kindness, recognizing the trauma and complexity of experiences related to scams.
Confidentiality and Discretion: Respect the privacy and personal stories shared by others. Personal experiences disclosed within SVA settings must not be repeated or attributed outside the group without explicit consent.
Integrity and Accountability: Foster a community grounded in truthfulness, transparency, and mutual accountability.
Member Commitments
Each SVA member commits to:
Support a Safe Environment: Uphold a non-judgmental, trauma-informed space where all members feel safe to share their experiences.
Respect Confidentiality: Apply the Chatham House Rule at all SVA events, meetings, and forums: Participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.
Uphold Civil Conduct: Refrain from any form of harassment, intimidation, or discriminatory behaviour.
Act in Good Faith: Share information and experiences honestly, without exaggeration or misrepresentation.
Avoid Conflict of Interest: Disclose any potential conflicts—such as representing financial, legal, or commercial interests—when participating in discussions or advocacy.
Protect the Integrity of the Community: Do not misuse the SVA name, logo, materials, or membership privileges for unauthorized or commercial purposes.
Grounds for Removal or Restriction
SVA reserves the right to restrict or revoke membership or participation privileges at its discretion for actions that include (but are not limited to):
Breaches of confidentiality or privacy.
Harassment or disrespectful conduct toward other members.
Misrepresentation of one's role, qualifications, or intentions.
Attempts to exploit or solicit members for personal or financial gain.
No fees or donations will be refunded if disciplinary action is taken for breach of these standards.
